The Salk Institute is located between The University of California at San Diego and the Pacific ocean in northern La Jolla, about 15 miles (a 20-35 minute car ride) north of downtown San Diego and the airport:

By Car:
From I-5, take the Genesee Drive exit and head west. Drive uphill and through two traffic lights moving into the far left lane. Turn left at the third light onto North Torrey Pines Road. Drive south 1/8 mile along the UCSD campus and The Institute will be on your right.

Visitor parking is available in the front lot located between Torrey Pines Scenic Drive and Salk Institute Road. Additional parking is available just west of the Institute on Torrey Pines Scenic Drive.

The reception area is located in the south lobby of the East Building.
